It could be argued either way that hunting and fishing are eco-friendly. However, money from hunting and fishing subscriptions is often re-invested in the environment to protect it. There are certainly several programmes in the UK where hunting is a vital part of the country-side economy. The investment is used to manage, control and protect wildlife and their habitats. I don’t hunt myself, but I feel that it has it’s place.

Regardless of your views on hunting and fishing, it is much better for the environment to avoid using lead shot or weights. Lead as you know is a heavy metal that can poison most natural environments. There are many suitable alternatives these days, and it doesn’t usually cost much more either.
