“I don’t need a bag thanks”

I understand why shop assistants do it. They are on auto-pilot in a way. Scan item, bag it, take money, provide change.

I was on a train the other day and I bought a flapjack, which is a small biscuit made out of oats, honey, and raisins. It was tiny. The lady serving me put in in a paper bag! Now I’m never sure if shop assistants are instructed to do this from a brand awareness perspective, but this was just ridiculous. It was at this point that I thought what a different one phrase could make to the world if everyone uttered it just once a week.

Embrace the phrase and say it with a smile

“I don’t need a bag thanks”
