dry-cleaning-environment

Not only does Dry Cleaning cost you significant amounts of money, but it can cost not only the environment but the people who work in the dry cleaning shop too!

Some dry cleaning process uses “perchloroethylene”. This can cause menstrual irregularities, fertility problems, and spontaneous abortions among women who work in the industry. Residue from Perchloroethylene processes can also seep into drinking water many believe exposure can cause liver or kidney damage.

Perchloroethylene is being phased out by many dry cleaners due to customer demand, but if you are outside of a city, it is likely your cleaner will still use this chemical, so if you must dry clean your clothes, ask them first!
