Its odd how things come back into fashion- Vinyl LP’s, bread making & vegetable growing have all had a surge in popularity over the past few years after being largely consigned to the “pop culture landfill”. One other item or invention from the past that is once again growing in popularity is the “clockwork” or “wind-up” radio.
Modern versions, such as the one above are great for travelling and getting radio on the road. The obvious alternative is a battery powered radio and the eco benefit of wind-up radios is that they are naturally battery free. Most modern wind-up radios will play for 20+ hours on a full charge and will play for up to an hour based on a thirty second wind. Many include solar panels to boost the charge so if listening to the radio whilst in the great outdoors is your thing then try a wind-up radio..
