I walked up Snowdon recently. As always, it was great to get outside and climb the highest peak in England and Wales. It’s not especially difficult, as over half a million people do it every year! This however means a lot of footsteps and that mountain must take a pounding.

As a result, the Snowdon Park Rangers lay hardwearing paths for walkers along the popular routes, like the one in the picture shown.

When out walking amongst mountains and fells, despite them being man-made, it is important to always stick to the paths that are constructed. There are even concrete steps shortly before the summit of Snowdon! Not sticking to these paths will contribute to soil erosion on the mountain and make wlaking up the mountain less safe for others.
