One great way to help the planet is to host a Go Green Fundraiser. The idea is simple, instead of selling the same tired old fundraising products that customers have been buying for years, you offer all natural, organic, and earth friendly products.

One of the best examples of an earth friendly fundraiser is a tree fundraiser. Trees can:

  • reduce runoff related pollution
  • produce a cooling effect on nearby structures which reduces energy usage
  • can increase property values by up to $10,000 per mature tree
  • manufacture oxygen and store carbon dioxide
  • beautify areas

Fund raisers can also include flower bulbs, natural foods and dog dodo bags. For more green fundraising ideas, visit the Go-Green Fundraising site.

That is infact a great idea, and a great way to distinguish yourself from other common fundraisers. I’ve done fundraising that was very very successful with fair trade organic coffee, chocolate and sugar.

Have been thinking about this for a long time and have managed to get lots of fairtrade or eco stalls for our school christmas fair this year. I feel really good about this and hope our vsisitors to the fair like them too. I will let you know how it goes next week.

Many schools and organizations are looking for fundraising programs that support a cleaner and healthier way of living. Our products not only help the environment, they also help people in need. Fundraising is a large part of gathering money for worthy causes. Whether it’s improving education or saving lives, our world needs our attention. What better way to raise money for these issues than to use environmentally safe products? Not only will you be helping those in need by purchasing these special items, but you will be making a lasting contribution towards the future of our planet.

Pics Canada has discovered an innovative way to provide consumers with an alternative to paper or Styrofoam. These stainless steel to-go mugs and water bottles are eco-friendly, free of Bisphenol-A (BPA) and allow for the consumer to design and decorate their own mug with photos, artwork, embroidery and more.

Another idea for simple to manage fundraising, also consider Fundraising Discount Cards.

In a nutshell, you buy plastic credit card type cards, which could have your chosen fundraiser logo on the front & approx 12 to 20 local merchants offering discounts on the back, you sell these at a profit (obviously), but also the person buying the card actually has more than the value of the card in discounts - win/win.

Eg: you buy card for $2, sell card for $10, & person buying has in excess of $10 worth of discounts.

Some of the better companies offer to get the merchants for you & some don’t even ask for payment until 2 weeks later, effectively paying for the cards out of the profit you’ve already made!
